Hike in diesel, cut in petrol prices proposed

ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority's (OGRA) recommendations regarding the revision of fuel prices for the coming week favour a dearer diesel and a cheaper petrol, Geo News reported.
As per sources, the OGRA, in a summary forwarded to Ministry of Petroleum, has recommended an increase of Rs3.16 per litre in the price of diesel and a cut of Rs2.09 a litre in that of petrol.
The summary further proposes to increase the prices of kerosene oil and light diesel by Rs1.92 and Rs1.23 per litre respectively.
There are speculations that with the reduction in price of petrol the rate of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) will witness a decrease of around Rs2 per kilogram.
