Lahore: Two young women killed in fire

LAHORE: Two women were burnt to death when a blaze broke out in a “single-roomed” lodging, here on Friday night, Geo News reported.
Rescuers say Yasmin, 24, and Ashi, 22 died after sustaining third degree burns.
Sources told Geo News that apparently the fire, suspected to have been caused by an electric short-circuit, spread too fast to give them or the neighbours a chance to do something.
Most probably the victims were first asphyxiated after a fast-spreading fire sucked all the oxygen from the air inside the room leaving them both helplessly unconscious, a rescuer said.
Reportedly the door to the room, which was gutted completely, was securely locked from inside and could not be broken in time, said a neighbour.
The dead bodies were moved to the morgue for the postmortem.
Police have launched investigation after registering a case.
