Will not let extremists impose their agenda: PM


ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has termed the attack on Malala Yousufzai’s life an attack on social values, education and enlightenment, adding that he will not let a handful of extremists impose their agenda upon the nation.
Addressing a conference on children’s rights in Islamabad, Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said Malala is the real face of Pakistan and her message is the message of the Pakistani nation.
Calling Malala the daughter of the nation, the Prime Minister informed reporters that a highly qualified team of doctors were working hard to treat Malala, adding that she will be taken to any country for treatment if the need arose.
Prime Minister Ashraf stated that the attackers of Malala Yousafzai were the enemies of the children of Pakistan.
Prime Minister Ashraf said he has been told that the next 48 hours will be critical for Malala and that the entire nation is praying for her recovery.
The Prime Minister added that the nation was also praying for the two other girls, Shazia and Kainat who were injured along with Malala.
Speaking at the conference Prime Minister Ashraf stressed that terrorism must be weeded out from its root and said that all representatives of different political parties have shown that the Pakistani nation is united against extremists and those who have a terrorist mindset.
