Dacoits loot villagers in Gujranwala, 3 injured

GUJRANWALA: Three villagers were injured when they tried to retaliate a robbery attempt in Adhurai village in Gujranwala, Geo News reported Thursday.
According to sources, armed robbers entered a village in Gujranwala at 8 pm on Wednesday night and held the villagers hostage while they deprived them of their cash and valuables. Meanwhile, some men tried to retaliate upon which the robbers opened fire and injured three persons.
The villagers told that the dacoits looted Rs 2.2 million cash along with jewelry and other valuables while they managed to flee successfully. The plundering continued for six hours that also included dowry of several girls who were fixed to marry soon, the residents told.
