KOHAT: Awami National Party (ANP) leader and Member National Assembly, Khursheed Begum and her husband Sunday survived a life bid here in Kohat, Geo News reported.
Reports have it that unknown gunmen fired shots at her car on Peshawar Road.
Khurhseed Begum and her husband, Saeed Shah Bukhari Advocate, were on their way to Kohat from Peshawar when they came under attack.
They were ambushed when they reached the Swati Gate area, police said.
“Armed men were lying in wait and as soon as the target approached they opened fire at it”, said an eyewitness.
The vehicle they were traveling in was damaged in the attack.
Terror gripped the area after the incident.
Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, Speaker National Assembly Fehmida Mirza, ANP leader Asfand Yar Wali, and other leaders condemned the dastardly attack on a woman in their separate messages.
