KARACHI: Inspector General (IG) Sindh Fayyaz Legahri said Sunday that sectarian strife was being created in the metropolis ahead of Muharram.
Speaking to Geo News, Legahri said the police had conducted a targeted operation in several areas of Karachi. He added that there was a law and order problem in Orangi Town, West and Central Zones of the city.
Legahri said violence in Soharb Goth erupted following a clash between two groups and additional forces of Rangers and police had been deployed to the area.
IG Sindh appealed to the Ulema and religious scholars to play their role in bringing peace to the city
