Action against transporters fleecing passengers ordered

KARACHI: Sindh Transport Department has directed DIG Traffic and Commissioner Karachi to take stern action against public transporters involved in overcharging the passengers, Geo News reported. Deputy Commissioner Transport Department Ali Nawaz Panhwar said the government had issued fare lists along with a notification to Karachi Transport Ittehad one day ago. He added DIG traffic and Commissioner Karachi had been directed to take action against the transporters fleecing the commuters. Meanwhile, President Karachi Transport Ittehad (KTI) Irshad Bukhari said they had not yet received fare lists from Sindh Transport Department.
