Both 1990 polls, subsequent govt were bogus: Kaira

KARACHI: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Saturday said that both the elections of 1990 and the government formed subsequently were bogus, Geo News reported.
“That government now stands illegal”, said he speaking at the Pakistan People's Party Media Cell here in Karachi.
He also claimed that millions of fake identity cards were used against the Pakistan People's Party in 1988 and 1990.
“Many phony campaigns were set in motion to undermine PPP in those days”, Kaira said.
He said how could those who rigged the elections and robbed the people of their rights be called trust-worthy and truthful?
"It was Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)chief Nawaz Sharif who licensed Younis Habib's Mehran Bank to operate in the country, need I say more", information minister added.
The truth had finally seen the light of the day, Kaira said.
"Who were the people who gave money and to whom was the money given was now written on the wall for everyone to see", he said.
